You can have PromoPilot delete an image or video from its storage once it has been posted, to free up space. Your posts are not touched: they stay up on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and LinkedIn, and stay in your post history.
To switch it on, go to Settings > Storage and turn on Delete images and videos after they are posted, then confirm. It starts with files whose posts went live more than a day ago.
How it works
- A file is deleted a day after the last post using it went live. PromoPilot checks every hour.
- A file is kept while anything still needs it: a scheduled or failed post, an approval, a campaign, an ad not yet sent to Meta, or a share link. A carousel is kept until every post using any of its pictures is done. Video covers and YouTube thumbnails are always kept.
- A deleted file stays in your Content Library as Removed after posting (switch on Show expired to see it). It can't be scheduled again; upload it again to repost it.
- Removed files no longer count toward your plan's media limit.
- Settings > Storage shows how much it has freed so far.
- It applies to the brands you own. Files in your own Amazon S3 bucket are never deleted.
