Connect a brand to Google Analytics 4 to see how many people your posts and campaigns send to your website, and what they do once they arrive.
Google Analytics is in limited preview while Google reviews PromoPilot's access, so the Google Analytics card may not show on your account yet.
How to Connect
- Go to Brand & Accounts and open Social accounts.
- Find the Google Analytics card and click Connect.
- Tick the box that lets PromoPilot store daily copies of your reports, then click Connect Google Analytics.
- Sign in with the Google account that can see your website's Google Analytics 4 property, and allow access.
- Pick the property for this brand. If the account can see only one property, PromoPilot picks it for you.
PromoPilot then copies the last 90 days and refreshes every 6 hours. Each brand reads one property. Use Change property to switch, and Sync now to refresh straight away.
What You See
- The Website analytics page opens on an Overview of how the site is doing and the journey visitors take: see the Website Journeys and Reports guide.
- Its Social & campaigns tab shows sessions, sessions from social and their share, key events (the events you marked as key events, or conversions, in Google Analytics) and revenue, with a daily chart and tables for each social platform, every channel and your campaigns.
- If your plan includes the CRM, the platform and campaign tables also count the contacts whose first visit came from each one, based on their UTM tags.
- On the dashboard, click Customize and add the Website traffic widget.
- In the ROAS report, each Meta campaign shows the sessions, key events and revenue Google Analytics recorded for it, matched by utm_campaign or utm_id.
- From an AI assistant on PromoPilot's MCP server, get_google_analytics_report reads the same report, get_google_analytics_status shows the connection and sync_google_analytics refreshes it.
- The Overview, Journeys and All reports tabs read more from Google Analytics when you open them, and get_google_analytics_insights gives an AI assistant the whole Overview.
Tip: Tag the links in your posts with the UTM Builder, and name utm_campaign after your Meta campaign (for example summer-sale for "Summer Sale") so the ROAS report can match them.
Access and Privacy
PromoPilot asks Google for read-only access and cannot change anything in your Google Analytics account. Disconnect at any time from the Website analytics page: PromoPilot deletes its access and every report it copied. You can also remove PromoPilot from your Google Account's third-party connections page, but that also disconnects YouTube and Google Drive if you connected them with the same Google account.
Troubleshooting
- No Google Analytics 4 properties: connect with a Google account that has at least Viewer access to the property, then click Refresh list.
- Needs reconnecting: Google stopped accepting PromoPilot's access, for example because it was removed in the Google account or went unused for six months. Click Reconnect Google Analytics.
- Revenue shows 0: your Google Analytics property records no purchase revenue, or your Google account cannot see revenue data.
