Sending Content for Review

Submit content through an approval pipeline

There are two ways to send content for review.

From the Approvals page

  1. Click New request (or Send content for approval in a pipeline's menu).
  2. Pick one or more items from your Content Library. You can search it.
  3. Choose the pipeline. The summary shows who is emailed first and who comes next.
  4. Add a title and a note for reviewers, for example what to check.
  5. Optionally set a deadline (Tomorrow, In 3 days or In a week are one click). If nobody has decided by then, the request expires.
  6. Click Send for approval.

From the Content Library

Open an item and click Send to Approval. This button appears once at least one pipeline is turned on for the Content Library. If several are on, you choose which one.

Reviewers in the first stage get an email straight away. Once everyone in a stage approves, the next stage starts automatically. When the last stage approves, the content moves to the Approved folder in your Content Library, ready to publish.

On the request page you can see each stage, who has decided, their comments, and who you are still waiting on. Send a reminder emails a fresh review link to someone on the current stage, and Cancel request stops it. Requests can be In review, Approved, Rejected, Expired or Cancelled.

Times on the Approvals pages are shown in your own time zone. Emails use your brand's time zone and name it, for example "17:00 BST".

Requests sent through the PromoPilot API can also say where to post once approved. The request page then shows that plan under After approval, and once everyone approves, the posts it scheduled. If the planned time has already passed by then, nothing is posted automatically and the content waits in the Approved folder. Sending a request like this needs permission to publish, as scheduling a post does. Posting is all or nothing: if one channel cannot be posted to, for example because its account was disconnected while the request waited, nothing is posted and the request page says why. Content an approval already scheduled shows Already scheduled in the Approved folder instead of Publish.
