Funnel and website analytics

Visitors on each step, where people drop off, what they click and which ads bring leads, without cookies

Every funnel and website has an Analytics tab: open it from the funnel card, from a website's page (next to Navigation and Blog) or from the editor's top bar. It is on every plan, and your AI assistant can read the same numbers through the PromoPilot connector (get_funnel_analytics and get_site_analytics).

What is counted

  • Page views.
  • Clicks on buttons and links, by their label and where they go (the path only, never the rest of the address).
  • The first time someone starts typing in a form, and the leads it sends.
  • Plays of your own videos and how far people watch (25, 50, 75 and 100 per cent), and taps on YouTube and Vimeo videos.
  • Bookings made in a booking block.
  • Events your custom code components report with PP.track.

Each comes with the ad tags the visitor arrived with (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content, utm_term, utm_id), the site that sent them (its name only) and whether the screen is a phone, a tablet or a computer.

Cookieless

No consent banner is needed and every visitor counts. Nothing is stored in your visitors' browsers, no IP address or full browser details are kept, and nothing about the browser is read beyond its window width. PromoPilot works out a visitor code from the address, the browser and a random value that changes every day and is deleted after two days, so the same person on two different days counts as two visitors and nobody can be followed from one day to the next or identified. Automated browsers and known bots are not counted.

How to read it

  • Visitors are people per day. Leads are visitors whose form or component sent a lead; the conversion rate is leads as a share of visitors.
  • Form entries are the entries saved for these pages, the number your CRM sees. They also count people whose browser blocked the counting, and the filters do not change them.
  • Steps show each funnel step in order: its visitors, the share of step 1, the share of the step before, and how many left before it (the drop-off). A big drop between two steps is where to look first.
  • Where visitors came from groups people by ad tags (source / campaign / ad, where the ad is utm_content), else by the site that sent them, else as direct. Pick a row to filter the whole report by that ad.
  • What visitors did shows each block: clicks by button, forms started against sent, video plays and how far they were watched, and your components' own events.
  • Pick 7, 30 or 90 days or your own dates (up to 400 days), and filter by source, campaign, ad or device. Days are UTC.

Custom components

Inside a component, PP.track("quiz_started") or PP.track("answered", {step: 2}) adds an event. Names are lowercase letters, digits and underscores (up to 40); props are up to 10 simple values. The ready-made Quiz calculator already reports its start, each answer and the result.

When it starts

The counting goes onto your pages when they are published, so publish each funnel and website once more after this update and visits show within a minute of someone opening a page. The switch at the top of the Analytics tab turns counting off (at once) or on (from the next publish). Opening your own pages with View live from PromoPilot is not counted. Visits are kept for 400 days.
