PromoPilot publishes Instagram and Facebook Page stories from the same scheduling modal you use for feed posts. You can publish a story on its own, or tick Also add to Story on a feed post to fan out a 9:16 companion story alongside the feed.
How it works
- Open the calendar and click Schedule.
- Step 1: pick an image or video from your library or upload a fresh file.
- Step 2: tick the platforms you want to publish to.
- Step 3: on each Instagram and Facebook card, tick Also add to Story under the Media Format dropdown.
- A 9:16 story preview appears so you can see what will be cropped.
- The footer shows the total row count before you submit.
- Click Schedule. The story and the feed post publish independently at the chosen time.
Quota: A feed post + a story counts as ONE scheduled post, not two. The companion story is free of quota cost.
Media constraints
- Instagram stories: JPEG image up to 8 MB, or MP4/MOV H.264 video, 3-60s, max 100 MB. 9:16 recommended.
- Facebook Page stories: image up to 10 MB, or MP4 H.264 video, 3-90s, minimum 540x960. 9:16 enforced. Source must be hosted on a third-party CDN (Cloudinary, S3); fbcdn URLs are rejected.
Limitations
- Stories cannot include captions, location tags, or product tags - the platforms reject them on story containers.
- Carousels cannot be published as stories.
- Stories are immutable once published. You can delete the PromoPilot row but the platform does not support remote story deletion.
- Story permalinks are not stable - the URL we return points to your profile.
