New comments on the videos of a connected YouTube channel come into the unified inbox, next to Instagram and Facebook comments.
When comments arrive
YouTube does not notify apps about comments, so PromoPilot checks each connected channel every 15 minutes. A comment can take up to 15 minutes to appear. A comment YouTube holds for review comes in once you approve it, if that is within a day. Checking starts the first time a channel is checked after it is connected, so older comments are not brought in. Comments the channel writes itself, and replies inside a comment thread, are not brought in.
Reply from the inbox
Open the comment and choose Reply to comment to post a public reply under it as the channel. YouTube has no direct messages, so a YouTube conversation can only be answered with a public reply.
Answer automatically with a playbook
In a comment playbook's trigger, set Platform to YouTube, or to All platforms for Instagram, Facebook and YouTube. Playbooks set to Instagram + Facebook (the default, and every playbook made before YouTube comments existed) do not answer on YouTube. On YouTube, the Send DM step posts its message as a public reply to the comment, and the reply shows in the inbox marked as sent automatically.
Each reply uses a daily YouTube allowance that PromoPilot shares, so automatic YouTube replies are limited to 20 a day for each channel, and keywords help keep them to comments that need an answer. Replies you write in the inbox are not limited. If replies fail, reconnect the YouTube channel under Brand & Accounts and accept every permission Google asks for.
