Open a contact in CRM > Contacts. The Came from panel on the Info tab shows where they came from, on every plan.
First touch and last touch
The source (Paid social, Paid search, Organic social, Organic search, Referral, Direct or Other), the source and medium tags, the campaign, the ad set, the ad or the tagged content, the landing page, the site that referred them and the date. Meta campaigns and ads show by name when PromoPilot knows them, and a campaign made in PromoPilot links to it in Ads. Direct means the visit had no tags and no referring site (typed in or bookmarked); Unknown means a touch was recorded without any detail. A contact with one touch shows it once, as the first and only touch.
Every touch
Click Every touch to see each one, newest first, with how it arrived: a Meta instant form, a funnel or website form, a booking page or the lead API. The 20 newest show first; Show all lists the rest.
Where it comes from
Meta instant form leads, forms and custom components on your PromoPilot funnels and websites, booking pages and the lead API record it with every lead. Pages read the tags in the address the visitor landed on (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content, utm_term, utm_id, meta_campaign_id, meta_adset_id, meta_ad_id, fbclid, gclid). Ads made in PromoPilot add the campaign, ad set and ad tags for you. A contact added by hand or imported shows No source recorded yet.
The same data is on the contact in the REST API (GET /api/v1/crm/contacts/<id>/, the came_from field). Team members see it wherever they can see the contact.
